The Lacey award was previously the ATMCH Academic Leadership Award. The ATMCH Academic Leadership Award was created in 1990. It was named the Lacey award in 1995 after the death of Loretta Lacey, a professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Every year, the past three recipients of the award and the chair of
the nominations committee review the nominations for the Lacey award.
